tough loss, rick

remember the game classic concentration?
great W for big ed and the friars.... also just an atrocious shooting display by louisville.... pitino looked pretty embarrassed ... i mean, not "admitted to police that he had sex in a restaurant in August 2003 with Karen Sypher, who is also attempting to extort him." embarassed... but pretty embarassed.

    I'm not sure I'll ever tire of that clip from Along Came Polly...I've never watched the movie in its entirety and the parts that I have seen are rather mediocre, but this scene I'll watch over and over again. I used to laugh at the "rain drops!" and "white chocolate!" but now the "outlet! outlet!" and "T! T!" get equal amounts of laughter. Just awesome.

      "I'm burnin! I'm burnin!"

      underrated movie based solely on hoffman... he knocks every single scene out of the park. seriously billy bob, you should watch this whole movie. he is so good in this he elevates an otherwise forgettable movie into "stop flipping" category, if i ever stumble across it on tv.

      (his characters backstory is that he was a 'brat pack' like celebrity as a teenager who starred in a 'breakfast club' type movie called 'crocodile tears'... but as an adult he has faded into total obscurity, but still acts like a big star. at the start of 'along came polly' he is funding his own "E! true hollywood story" in the hopes he can sell it to E! after its completed.)

      if they made this a move just about his character, Sandy Lyle, (just him giving bad advice to various friends, acting like a buffoon, all while filming his E! true holly wood story) i think it would have been one of the best comedies of the last 10 years.

      this basketball court scene is probably his funniest... but there is a boardroom scene at the end that is up there with this one.
