college football stinks

"you changed your name TO smelly?"..."yeah, it used to be shithouse".... "thats a good change!"
i flipped on espn to watch sportscenter, not realizing the BCS title game was on.... i saw smelley catch one pass, alabama kicked a field goal, then realized i don't give a rats heine about this game or any of college football, so i kept flipping... over on hbo i watched about a half hour of mel gibson's 'edge of darkness'.. or as mel's character would say it "daHHHKness"

billy bob, you reviewed this movie a while back, rightfully ripping on gibsons boston accent - but its not just him, its everyone... every boston accent (except maybe winstone) is brooootal....

after some more flipping i came across blazing saddles on amc.. but heavily edited, aggs...  i might flip back to the football game, but only in the hopes that they talk about the alabama fan that poisoned oak trees at auburn.... roll tide!

  1. I'm not AS dismissive toward college football as you are, but I still think its mostly a pointless exercise until there is a playoff. I really enjoy telling college football fanatics there has never been a real national champion (bonus points if they actually went to a college football powerhouse).

If the NHL played by the BCS rules the Caps would have had an automatic bid to the Stanley Cup for like the past 3 years...which would have been awesome, because they sure as hell can't advance through the current playoff format, but also demonstrates how ludicrous the college football system is. Its completely retarded.

  2. Oh, and yes, Mel's Boston accent was absolutely horrible..there were definitely some other bad accents but I just remember Mel's overpowering everything else in that movie.

Except for the scene in the beginning when his daughter gets blown away by that double barreled shotgun. That rocked.

  3. the scene where the girl got smoked by that car (as she got out of mels car) was pretty gruesome too.

(and mels subsequently peppering the attacking car with bullets, killing the driver, then shooting out its tire to sent it flipping into the river.... that was a pretty cool as well... no spoken words in that scene.)
